What file format do the animated mockups come in?
The animated mockups are After Effects project files, delivered as a zipped folder containing a pre-built composition with everything set up and ready to go.
Do I need After Effects to use animated mockups?
Yes, Adobe After Effects is required. Unlike the static mockups which can be edited in the browser using our compositor tool, the animated mockups are AE-only.
How do I place my design into the mockup?
Open the project in After Effects, then drag your design file into the designated composition. The screen replacement, tracking, and masking are already set up — your design will snap into place automatically.
My design doesn't fill the screen properly. What do I do?
After dropping your design into the composition, right-click the layer, hover over Transform in the context menu, and select Fit to Comp. This scales your design to match the composition dimensions correctly.
What resolution and frame rate are the animated mockups?
The animated mockups are rendered at 4K resolution and 60 fps, giving you professional-quality output suitable for any platform.
What format should I export/render to?
You can render directly from After Effects. We recommend then running the output through Handbrake (free app available on Mac, Windows, and Linux) to compress the file before uploading — this keeps quality high while reducing file size significantly.
Can I use the compositor tool with animated mockups?
No, the browser-based compositor only works with static mockups. Animated mockups require After Effects.
What's the difference between the static and animated mockups?
Static mockups are PSD files — you place your design in Photoshop or use our browser-based compositor tool to export a still image. Animated mockups are After Effects project files that produce a video output, with the device screen automatically tracked and masked.
Can I use the mockups for commercial or client work?
Yes, depending on your license. The Commercial license covers individuals and companies with up to 5 employees. The Enterprise license covers larger teams. Both permit client work and commercial projects. Check the licenses page for the full breakdown.
What subscription options are available, and what's included?
The All Access subscription gives you instant access to every mockup on the site, including all animated packs and any new releases added while your subscription is active. You can subscribe monthly or annually — the annual plan works out cheaper overall. The subscription includes Enterprise-level usage rights.
How do I access my files after subscribing?
Once subscribed, click "My purchases" in the navigation on any page of the site. This will take you to your customer portal where you can download all your files.
Can I cancel, and do I keep my files?
Yes, you can manage and cancel your subscription at any time through the customer portal via the "My purchases" link. Any files you downloaded during your active subscription period are yours to keep — cancelling removes access to downloading new or future mockups.
How many mockup scenes are included in each pack?
Each animated mockup pack includes multiple scenes — the exact number varies per pack and is listed on the product page.
